Legal Liability

All individuals who take part in Gymnastics, either as administrators, judges, coaches or participants, have a duty of care to ensure they do not cause injury or damage to other people.

If their actions cause injury, loss or damage and “negligence” can be proved, they become legally liable to pay compensation.

Legal Liability insurance provides indemnity against a range of Recognised Activities, happening anywhere in the world. It also embraces a wide range of activities of the insured, including social, fundraising and administrative activities as well as summer camps.

A summary of what is included:

  • Public Liability
  • Product Liability
  • Pollution Liability (including Clean Up)
  • Professional indemnity
  • Libel and slander
  • Directors' and Officers' Liability (for club committee members)
  • Employment Practice Liability

Please note this is a brief summary only and reference to the policy wordings should be made for precise details of the terms and conditions and exceptions that apply to each class of insurance.
